Recently, the ultra large ball mill at the Xinjiang Hami Yandong Copper Mine, undertaken by MCC5, successfully completed its single machine trial run on the first attempt. Following the start command, the ball mill, measuring 6.4 meters in diameter and 11.15 meters in length and ranking among the largest in China, started smoothly with all operating parameters meeting design specifications. This milestone marks the project's official entry into the final sprint phase of full line integrated commissioning.
The project is a key construction project of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, located in the Gobi Desert southwest of Hami City. It has a total floor area of approximately 61,000 square meters and includes multiple facilities such as the main process building, a comprehensive maintenance workshop, and an ore processing administration building.
Once completed and put into operation, the project will achieve an annual ore processing capacity of 5 million tons, effectively facilitating the efficient conversion of mineral resources and strengthening domestic copper supply security. It will also contribute positively to the local economic development of Hami and to the national strategic security of copper resources.
