From July 21 to 22, MCC5 held talks with Qatar’s Al Jaber Group at MCC5 Tower and signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Zhang Gang, Chairman of MCC5, and Mohammed bin Sultan, Chairman of Al Jaber Group, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Song Dechun, General Manager of MCC5, Dai Xiaoqiang, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of MCC5, and Ahmed bin Mohammed, Board Member of Al Jaber Group, participated in the discussions and signing activities.

During the meeting, Zhang Gang welcomed Mohammed bin Sultan and his delegation and provided an overview of MCC5’s development. He noted that MCC5 is a key subsidiary of China Minmetals and Metallurgical Corporation of China Limited(MCC), with industry-leading strengths in technology, management, corporate credibility, and integrated full-chain services.

In recent years, MCC5 has focused on developing new quality productive forces, advancing green and low-carbon development as well as intelligent construction, and promoting the integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation, achieving significant results. Zhang highlighted that Al Jaber Group is a leading diversified enterprise in Qatar with strong comprehensive capabilities, extensive industrial resources, and rich experience in delivering major projects. He expressed the hope that both sides would enhance communication, expand cooperation areas, deepen collaboration, and pursue practical cooperation across various fields to achieve mutual benefits and win-win development.

Mohammed bin Sultan expressed his appreciation for Zhang Gang’s warm reception and introduced the development of Al Jaber Group. He stated that Al Jaber Group is a well-established and renowned Qatari enterprise with businesses covering engineering construction, industrial manufacturing, trade and finance, and tourism and cultural services. The group has undertaken numerous landmark and nationally significant projects in Qatar and plans to further expand into neighboring Gulf markets, building itself into an integrated industrial investment and construction group based in Qatar and serving the wider Gulf region.

He noted that MCC5 has a strong historical foundation, outstanding technical capabilities, and extensive project experience. With complementary strengths and aligned development goals, MCC5 and Al Jaber Group are ideal partners for cooperation. He expressed the hope that both sides would strengthen communication, explore innovative cooperation models, work together, and achieve shared growth.

Witnessed by Zhang Gang and Mohammed bin Sultan, Duan Lian, Head of MCC5’s Overseas Business Center, and Ahmed bin Mohammed, representing the two parties respectively, signed the cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, the two sides will establish a long-term and comprehensive strategic partnership based on the principles of equality, mutual benefit, and complementary advantages. Focusing on regions including the Middle East, the parties will carry out cooperation in areas such as engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), industrial development, and mining, promoting resource sharing and mutually beneficial outcomes.

During the visit, the Al Jaber Group delegation toured MCC5 Construction Technology Industrial Park, Chengdu Wuhou International Sports Park City Project, the Technology Center, and the exhibition hall.
