Recently, the conveyor system of the new sinter ore storage yard project at the Ironmaking Plant of Wuhan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (WISCO), undertaken by MCC5, began material discharge, marking the project’s commencement of operations.
The project includes the construction of two steel silos, each 40 meters in diameter and 38.7 meters high, along with seven supporting feeding and discharge conveyors. The longest conveyor extends nearly 200 meters, with an installation height of up to 52 meters. A supporting dust collection system has also been installed.
Once operational, the project will help address the imbalance between blast furnace and sintering production, fully unlock the production capacity of the blast furnace and sintering facilities, reduce production losses, and improve cost efficiency.
